To advance the adoption, implementation and meaningful use of health IT among healthcare providers and facilitate and develop an electronic health information exchange(HIE) in order to improve the safety, quality, accessibility, availability, and efficiency of healthcare for the citizens of Ohio.
The goal of OHIP is to create a trusted and sustainable statewide health information exchange (HIE), offering a value-added, integrated and seamless structure for enabling health data exchange to improve measurable health outcomes for citizens of Ohio. To achieve this goal, OHIP has established the following objectives:
The Northwest Ohio Regional Extension Center will support priority primary care providers (PPCPs) with direct technical assistance in EHR selection, achievement of effective implementation
of technology, enhancement of clinical and administrative workflows through optimization of technology to improve quality and value of care, and compliance with applicable legal, regulatory,
professional and ethical requirements to protect the integrity, privacy and security of patients health information.
The Northwest Ohio Regional Extension Center will partner with entities offering specific areas of expertise to assist health care providers through every aspect of EHR adoption,
implementation, and achievement of meaningful use.
